NGC 1555 Hind's variable nebula

 

This variable nebula is a cloud of gas/dust associated with the young variable star T Tauri.

I said on a previous photograph of this nebula that there is much wider nebulosity just visible in the background. So on tonight's attempt I have taken a larger number of exposures (158) to try to show that fainter nebula. This is again pushing the limit of what my equipment can achieve. I was surprised by how green the background is but remember that my DSLR is unmodified, so I only get about half the H-alpha red contribution.
