Leo II dwarf galaxy

 2012 Mar 21

This small diffuse member of the Local Group of galaxies is near the limit of what I can photograph with my equipment. It took a stack of 94 images to get this (I exposed 100 but some were spoilt by satellite trails). The galaxy was only discovered in 1950 and lies about 700,000 light years away.

Canon EOS 5D MkII ISO6400 94x32s
